Get Involved With Mission Outreach & Service at KHPC

"I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me."
(Matthew 25: 35-36 The Message Bible)

At KHPC, we believe in the Great Commandment witness: "You are to love your neighbor as you love yourself," which exemplifies the teaching of Jesus. We believe faith shouldn't be limited to believing the right things; it is also a passionate call to offer service, especially to those most in need. We invite you not only to worship with us, but also to serve with us as we grow in our love for our neighbors, both near and far. Our opportunities abound:

The Caring Place: This shared ministry among area churches, located at KHPC, serves community residents and families with needed food, clothing and other essential items, when funds are low. The Caring Place is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-2pm. Volunteers from area churches and schools help keep a steady stream of donated food and other items stocked for those who need assistance. The Ohio Benefit Bank is also a feature of The Caring Place services. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, an outpouring of generosity provides families and children with food and gifts. At the beginning of the school year, children also receive needed school supplies. www.thecaringplace.info

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN): KHPC actively participates in and supports the IHN mission to help homeless families achieve sustainable independence. ihncinncinnati.org

Juneteenth Yearly Celebration: This annual celebration of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation (which freed American slaves) was started by KHPC member Lydia Morgan (her license plate is "JNTEENTH"!) and others in 1986. From its inaugural event at Drake Park, this festival has blossomed to attract as many as 15,000 people to Eden Park on Father's Day each year. juneteenthcincinnati.org
